Lauren Bino has been interested in needlework since five years old when returning from Guam with her family to be stationed at Ellsworth Air Force Base.
My family retired and took up residence in South Dakota and I started learning beadwork from Doug Fast Horse in 1982, then later, working for Charles Fast Horse until 1986. I formed Creations by Lauren in 1986. In 1987, a dress I made won the Pasadena Art Show with first place. I then started taking personal commissions from customers with the understanding that I am not Native American. I only guarantee quality of beadwork, delivery as soon as possible, using designs and color choices of customers.
Lauren has also made copies of pieces in museums. Those items are then returned to Native American families. Her work is then displayed in the museum.
